This song was written by Daniel Lanois and was recorded in the same demo session as Julie Miller’s “All My Tears” and “Orphan Girl” by Gillian Welch, back in 2008. I was doing an Emmylou Harris tribute show at a church in Stockholm, so these recordings were originally just to send to the band. They were never intended to be released, but this is the third one now, and they are all from Emmylou’s incredible album Wrecking Ball that Daniel Lanois produced. I have listened to that album so, so much. I love it.
