recorded a Julie Miller song for the first Rarities album 10 years ago, and later recorded this other one of hers for the Leave Me Breathless covers album. I didn’t end up using it in the end, because I didn’t want the record to be too long. Listening back to it now, I remembered how much I love it. It’s actually part of the same story of love and heartbreak that informed the making of that album, and in a way I see “I Still Cry” as kind of a gift to the guy in that story. It’s a song that he really liked, and I do think it’s incredibly beautiful and very underrated.
